From what I've seen (Haven't had the original Inferno, have an Intense and an Ultimate) the Ultimate seems more than a step stronger than the Inferno would have been. If you stacked a 4" pin-CC below your ring finger, then the CG is very close to your thumb. That's a VERY strong drilling for an Ultimate. It may need some polish to get thru the heads cleanly on even a heavy oil condition. Mine does not hook much at all either, but it does hook. I find few uses for my Ultimate.

There are few bad Brunswick balls, THAT I KNOW OF.

As to whether it was burning up in the heads or not, is something that must be experimented with, in order to learn. I couldn't say; I can only suggest more experiments.

I have a somewhat similar problem, but for a different reason.  My UI has the pin over the fingers, cg out, no hole.  The ball is shiny, not a mirror.  I really have to be soft with my hand and keep my ball speed up, this ball has so much midlane.  I can't get it to turn the corner properly from deep inside, it is really a heavy oil ball.  My speed is slower than yours, and probably less revs.

I am thinking about drilling another with the pin about 5 1/2 inches from my axis, below left of my middle finger, cg out at about 45 degrees, and shiny.  Small hole if needed.  With your rev rate you could probably try this, and adjust surface as needed.  With your small tilt, you might need to go over the fingers so that the track doesn't clip your fingers.

Ultimate Inferno is an awesome heavy oil ball, probably the best, but it is situational for alot of people.  You might also try the new Impulse Zone.  Looks REALLY good.  Drilled one for a customer Saturday.  Very strong ball, but different than the Warp Zone.

Driller to many "Stars" and Tony Melendez too!

I had one drilled 1L and it seems to do very little but still packs a wallop at the pin deck, whether it's burning up or a bad ball I dont know because it's hard to read the ball with all the yellow logos and inserts. One thing for sure it that mine is very consistent. Smooth and Strong. If, by any chance, I make it to the pocket no pins are going to stand. That's the only thing I like about the UI.

I just sanded it up to near 1500 grit to see if I can make it skid maybe a cm or so before burning up So I have to wait til wed. to try it out.

Short,  At this house I bowling in in Bay city.  I cant get anything to wrinkle and i playin straight at the pocket with as many revs as possible .  I have tried everything adjusted my inferno took cover down took cover down on my smart zone one nothing that why i looking for heavy oil ball,but at the time i had my UI i probably didnt give it a chance.  I dont have one but i think i gonna drilll another one thanks for all your input folks.  I think i gonna drill a UI and an impulse.

For heavy oil, I think the Goliath is better.  The Goliath goes into a roll early and makes a continuous move to the pocket.  If you don't have heavy oil though, the ball can look pretty bad due to using all of its energy too soon.
