Teal Rhino Pro
« on: April 19, 2008, 02:49:56 PM »
Hi, new to the forums here, but I've been using the reviews for some time; just a great site.

I recently called up Buddie's Pro Shop and asked about the Teal Rhino Pro, seeing as places are still selling purple re-issues. After speaking with them I realized I've kind of missed the boat on the re-issue of this ball, but I've always wanted one of these things.
Is there any place, anywhere that sells these things? I mean, I can find an unreal amount of Rhinos all over the internet, and can't help but trip over an old one in any pro shop in any house around here, but I can't track down an undrilled Teal to save my life.
Any and all would be greatly appreciated, guys.

I actually have an old '96-'97 Rhino Pro X, which is essentially the same thing as the Avalanche.
I'm just trying to track down a #15 Teal Rhino because I missed my chance to get one when I was a good deal younger, and apparently was completely oblivious to the fact that Brunswick re-issued the thing.

Yeah, my Pro X seems to produce a stronger reaction than the Avalanche pearl, but not quite the overall aggression that you see in the Avalanche solid. The drilling contributes to this as well.
It's not that I've some pre-conceived notion that the teal is a great ball by today's standards, it's just that I spent many a day with my face pressed against the proshop window when I was a kid, wanting that ball. I've just had to luck finding one that's not out-right dead.

By the way, I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on how the Teal compares with the old purple. I've never had a chance to throw a Teal pro, so I'm curious as to how different the overall reaction was. Seemed like a big deal back in the day, but again, I've never been able to compare the two myself.
