I've never seen urethane flare. Then again it may be my release.

The Dry/R has their puck core system with creates track flare, No pancake weightblock ball will flare. The urethane grooves are Pancakes they don't have the added bottom pucks.

How was it drilled and how high do you track? Lots of things make somebody hit the holes.

That's probably because most urethane balls today are made for very light oil or dry lanes. You don't usually want a high-flaring ball for a condition like that. There's nothing inherent in urethane that keeps it frmo flaring. It'd flare just as much as a Black Cherry Bomb if you put the Bomb core in it.

Another vote here for the Power Groove Dry/R.

That's probably because there aren't that many high-differential urethanes out there anymore. However, some of the older urethanes with stronger cores flared their share. I had a Scarlet Quantum several years back, drilled with a 4 1/2" pin-to-PAP, that flared about four inches.

You're right; pancakes flip, they don't flare.
