Love my Classic
« on: March 22, 2005, 09:42:08 AM »
Picked up a Zone Classic a week ago monday.  drilled it up that day to try in my monday night league.  Been trying to find something to throw in this house, anyone from columbus can vouch for how tough Holiday lanes are.  Guardian heads with wooden backends typically scorched back ends as well.  So I pick up my zone drill it rather weak.  Pin above bridge cg in center of palm and PSA just below my thumb.  took all of practice to get used to but decided to put it away.  after going 150 160 the first two games throwing a uranium and blazing inferno and even my burgundy hammer I decide that I really cant do any worse the last game with it, shoot 236... not bad.  Thursday morning shoot 673 with it, couldnt miss just had some carry issues.  Sunday afternoon shoot 640 with a 160 game in the middle(shoe sole got jacked up).  so I come back to the worst house in columbus that monday right out the gates I shoot 276 leaving a solid 4 pin in the 9th.  next game shoot 268.  then as all wooden lanes breakdown I finish with 190, 734. Ball pays for itself in three bowling sessions.  Any one thinking of picking one up DO IT! glad I did.

Managed to score one myself from a local thrift shop NIB, $80 (advertised pro shop sale)  Drilled it to go long and snap (5" pin over bridge, CG kicked out right of thumb, PSA as well) and that is exactly what it does.  I have never thrown anything like this. My WMB is a very nice compliment, as well as my V2 Sweet, but both are drilled to arc.  The classic i can play anywhere. Shot 247 OOB. This sounds rather elementary, but it literelly gets about 50 feet down the lane and turns LEFT, and it carries everything.  When i get tapped, i stare in amazement.
Great ball, get one!
