What can you Brunswick gurus tell me about this ball?  Is it good for any of todays conditions?

Any more info than on Bowlingballvault appreciated.

Thanks // Lillen

If I remember correctly, this is/was a PK18 solid ball with the Danger Zone core, a kind of remake.

Polished OOB, and therefore good for medium conditions with a good mid lane read. Not a true skid/flip ball. IMO, a Karma Solid would be pretty close from the current big B arsenal in overall performance and utility. With some surface, the ball should even handle longer oil patterns with ease.

The D2Z was out at about the same time as the Danger Zone, but was not a re-make. It was a "Danger Zone" for drier conditions.

The regular Danger Zone was too strong for me back then, but I LOVED the D2Z. The D2Z gave me length and control where the DZ gave hook and power.

Can't remember WHY it was for drier lanes though. I THINK (reasonably sure I remember this) it was a different coverstock from the DZ, but I cant remember which one. I remember getting mine because it was advertised as such.

If Lillen is referring to ball I think he is, it was usually called the D2Z, I believe.

Sorry, Dizzy. I have to go with The Bowling Pariah on this one.

The DZ is now for medium-light to medium oil, so the DZ2/D2Z would be for light to medium-light oil these days.

It is relative to your style. I could have bowled almost every week in league and most tournaments with a PowerGroove (pk17) playing up the boards.(average rev player) If you bowl somewhere with heavy oil and want to hook the whole lane then your probably going to try something else. Going by your profile info it should play just fine. If it is NIB I think it would compare just fine with the Karmas. If it is used, depending on the condition and what all has been done to it, I would have much lower expectations.

Thanks to all of you for your answers.

The reason I asked is that I can get my hands on a  first drill one very cheap , I was just curious since I didn't know  anything about the ball...

Think it's gonna be fun to roll it...

Thanks again

Brunswick actually called it the Deep Danger Zone and it was designed to be used after the conditions dried up as it got longer and was slightly more angular on the back end  and allowed you to play deeper on the lane as they dried up. It would work well on today's lighter conditions
