Enough already
« on: June 21, 2005, 03:40:38 AM »
I think we can all agree that it sucks Brunswick wants to move the plant. I am not a big fan of US jobs going to other countries. Brunswick is just one of many in the past decade or so to move production plants. If you want to stop using their equipment then do it because of a quality issue or something like that. Don't do it just because they are going to move the plant in the next few years. With up to date equipment like they say they are going to have it could mean better equipment then what they have now for us to use. Give it time to take place and see what the equipment is like. I do not work at all for Brunswick or have no connections with them. I started using their equipment after using Track only for years and saw my game improve and will stick with the equipment until I see problems with it. Is it to much to ask for the rest of you to do the samething? LIke I have stated and others have as well much of what we use on a daily basis is made out of the country so will you stop using all of that since it is not made in the States I doubt it. Just relax and see what happens before you say you will never use or suppport Brunswick.

I'm sure most of the people complaining will forget about this 6 months from now(much earlier I'm sure) when Brunswick releases the next great must have ball.

Joe league bowler does not know where they are made now, all he cares about is what it is going to cost him for a new one.

I hate seeing jobs outsourced, but if it results in LOWER PRICES FOR ME, then I don't care so much.  Problem is, I haven't heard anything about that, so I assume this will only improve the profits for the company rather than passing on their cost cutting measures to the consumers.

I saw a post that said the bowling ball manufacturing division of Brunswick lost 1.5 million last year. If this is true, sounds to me like their not trying to increase profits, but just to make them.

That's it, the more you carry the more you have to offer, lessening the possibility of loosing a sale.

I can't wait until each & every one of you that is posting in this thread from the US loses their job because they got outsourced.

The sheer ignorance of every one of you to the larger picture of what moves like this mean to our country & the people who live in it shows exactly why the US is in decline.

Enjoy self congratulatory back patting on how cool you are because you don't have to care about where your bowling balls are made.

Your grandparents would be ashamed.

Thank you...I see as long as the prices are lower for YOU and/or the quality is the same/ it doesn't really matter what happens to any one else, even if they lose a job, get cut in pay and benefits, or w/e the case may be. And we wonder why we lose more American jobs everyday. . . . .

It makes no difference what you or I think, it will not change the overall picture. I have lost a job to the exact thing, but I got over it. It happens, it will continue to happen. You can either except it or let it eat you up, your choice. Do I like it no, can I change the outcome, no.

Bjaardker,

I am highly offended that you would call me ignorant. I merely stated as to why I thought they were moving, I never once condoned this action. I live in Texas, where cheap labor gets picked over experienced good people every single day. Anytime american companies leave to do business off of american soil, it is a sad day. Once again, I never stated that I liked or agreed with what is going to happen, just made a comment as to why I thought is was happening. Ignorant my a@@.

Actually, my grandfather passed away this last year, and for you to even bring him into this (at any level) has SERIOUSLY pissed me off!!! My grandfather was a great man, who served this country well, as a Marine Drill Sergeant! He was a very good man, and he always stuck up for what he felt was right.

But what was right to him, may not be right to everyone in the world...or the counrty for this matter. I lost a job to someone else that was less qualified than me, but to you and Hex, apparently it's ok cause it's another American who took MY job! I think that you are the type of people who take their pride a little too far. Don't tell me that I don't care about losing jobs to others who are less qualified, cause it has happened to me.

I think that you two would have a MUCH clearer perspective of this whole situation if your @$$ wasn't resting firmly on your own shoulders!

So let's review....

You lost your job, but the company didn't move anywhere & is still in the US.

And this is topical how? I said nothing pertaining to your situation. And I'm not sure how it's relevant at this point.

T Brockette, I apologize to have lumped you into the mix with the rest of the Brunswick apologists. However In the same thread that you read they took a 1.5 million dollar loss, I posted the numbers directly from Bruswick that for 2004 their bowling/billiards had a 42 million dollar operating margin, not a 1.5 million dollar loss.

I firmly stand by the statement that almost everyone here has a grandparent that would be disappointed in them by not standing up for the American worker.

I thank god that you were not one of those 56 men in Phillidelphia about 230 years ago.

BigWilly, where in the HELL did I say anything about your grandfather or anything about losing a job to another American worker? Would you please quote? O wait, YOU CAN'T. What you stated has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what is being talked about. I'm sorry you lost your job, I really am, believe me. But where exactly did I say it was ok for another American to take your job? That is a completely different subject. DO NOT insinuate. We are talking about moving an American plant out of the U.S. losing more American jobs. That means less jobs. PERIOD. Please before you insult anyone get your subject straight...

Aren't you the one who told me to not make myself look like an idiot? I think you may want to be taking up your own advice. Please, before you call me or Bjaardker out again, make sure it's relevant. You're taking this way too personally, I'm take it too personally, which causes stupid pointless fights..
