Shock Zone- Drilling Question?

I recently bought one of these N.I.B.- I am a full roller and was thinking about putting the pin in the center of my grip which would be right in the middle of the track. Is this coverstock strong enough to come back on it's own with this kind of drilling? Anybody have any experience doing a calm drill on one of these? Any replies are appreciated.

Thanks Bob, I wanted to use this on a condition where it is what I would call medium oil from 12&1/2 board in and dry outside of 12&1/2 to the gutter.Am trying to throw from 20 to 10(small swing).Most of my full roller drills hook too much for this shot so I've been shooting inside angles. Wanted something that would get me back to shooting the 10 board again.I guess by putting the pin in the track this would calm the shock zone down enough.

Yo Mike,

I've got two of these balls. The coverstock is relatively benign. Strong enough for medium conditions, but not strong enough, on its own to cut thru heavy oil or carrydown. Mine are drilled 4x3 and label-leverage shift(aprox. 4.5 x 5. The ball is strongest with the leverage drill, on light-medium conditions. If you've got a lotta hand, go with the mild drill. But if you're just average with average speed, just go label/lev.
I use my 4x3 as a control ball on quickly drying conditions. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jesse, I drilled mine full roller( 7:30 alingment pin & C.G.) I put the pin 2" to center of grip. This equates to a 4-3/4" pin to pap conventional drill. Am able to stand on 34 board(right foot) shoot 3rd arrow on a medium oil condition. Ball has great carry and seems to store a lot of energy for the finish.
