BVP RAMPAGE

My son just picked up a BVP RAMPAGE today. He currently thorws a Morich Col. Supreme and needed something that did not have as much snap on the end. In anyones opinion, was this a good choice or should he have gone for something different and if so, what should that have been. I drilled up my ANIMAL for him and he did not like it. He was throwing a WICKED and that ball just dies after it makes a turn. So we needed something to replace that ball, but not be as aggressive as the MoRicH.
So was the RAMPAGE a good choice?

Odd picture you draw, since few would ever say the Colossus Supreme was snappy ball, unless you both drilled it to be snappy and put a very high gloss on the surface. This was meant to be a oiler of the first magnitude at the time it was released.

Is his Colossus polished?

Many people think the Rampage, a high gloss polished resin pearl, is a snappy ball. A lot depends on how you drill it, how you throw it and on what oil you use it. With enough oil, it can be smooth.

If he's already purchased the Rampage,it should be a step down in oil handling from the Colossus or maybe even two step sdown, again, depending on how he has the surface.

No, the Supreme is not Polished. But with the medium oiled lanes and his style, it seemed to keep snapping past the pocket. I know what I said was odd, but it is the best way that I could explain it. What he was looking for was a more controlable hook on the medium lanes. They oil the night before his youth league and it does not seem to be consistant as when they oil right before my league night on the same lanes. I bowled on them today and my ball was even acting differently then on my normal league night. Not sure if oiling the night before (after they close) and lettingit sit over night does anything to the oil or not, I am not sure. I guess that is something I should post on here and see what kind of responses I get.
But the driller is going to drill it up to give him about the same looking ball as what his Supreme does on oilier lanes. I trust him in what he says, I just wanted to make sure that he was not getten taken on this ball. I have only seen one other person throw a ball in the BVP line, so I wanted some opinions.

How old is your son and what weight is he throwing?

I suspect there's just not enough oil for a ball such as the Colossus. It is not for medium oil in box condition (it is an asymmetric/mass bias core, while the Rampage is symmetric.). Plus he could have a large degree of tilt and/or rotation,  in which case, he needs a different drill to smooth out the reaction.

I hope the diller knows the diff between a strong mass bias ball and a symmetric one. BUT you didn't want the same snappy reaction as the Colossus. I hope you told the driller that. Was he the one who originally drilled the COlossus?
There are a lot of potential factors involved here.

If you're lucky the Rampage has the right surface for your son's release and the oil amount AND type of oil pattern he is facing.
