Ever heard of Tom Tomaras
« on: June 27, 2011, 10:16:11 AM »
Sent Tom Tomaras with Brunswick an email requesting info on the Teal Rhino Pro. Got a reply back today telling me that's a Lane One ball. Huh? I replied, how long have you been working for Brunswick.

I've emailed him a few time on different products and always had good, quick replys. Maybe he got his emails mixed up or was thinking of one of the older Lane1 bowling balls.

There actually was a Lane #1 Teal Pro ball.  It was the first Lane #1 ball that I bought.  Maybe he just missed the word 'Rhino' in your email.

I've been corresponding with Tom Tomaras at Brunswick for years and this guy really knows his stuff. This must have been some kind of mix-up.

Speaking of rhino pro...I've come across one, that looks similar to the one in that bowlingballvault picture, but its a little darker shade of teal and has an orange rhino logo on it. Any idea if it is the same or different?

Does it say "Pro" on it?

There was a bunch of Rhino urethanes of different colors (and hardnesses), just before the resin era (late 1980s??)
One of them might have been a dark blue with an orange logo, but then again, that tests even my memory. The urethane Rhinos might have had white logos.Sorry, just not sure.

sounds like the blue cobalt rhino(its a urethane, right before the pro series came out/ I think).. they have orange logos and are a darker shade of blueish green.. I have 2 15# NIBs  sitting in my cellar as we speak.. loved  the blue cobalt rhino!!

What would make you think he is going to respond about info regarding a ball that came out, oh let's see, twenty five years ago?!  Especially with Bowl Expo happening and Brunswick releasing three new balls!  Unlike you, his mind is in the here and now.   Why would you even bother to call or write a ball company about a ball that has been discontinued for decades?  That's why you got the response you did, he simply couldn't believe anybody would ask that.  You ball whore honks need to get a life.  You're embarrassing.

Tom sent me a chart on all the Rhinos. It's got a lot of useful information.

All this for a ball that came out in 1993.  If Tom is 30 years old, he was 12 when this ball came out.  It wouldn't surprise me if he thought of a ball that came out 2 years ago first.
