Total Inferno and Original Inferno

I am wondering will the TI be a good compliment with the OI? I have my OI in OOB condition with high gloss. I'm looking for a ball to handle a little more oil and carrydown. Also my pro-shop is asking for $190 fir the ball with drilling. Is it too expensive for this ball? I'm looking forward for your replies. Thanks

Don't know much about the OI since the TI is the
first Inferno that i have thrown. But the price doesn't
sound that bad since I paid 200$ drilled for mine.
By the way, you will love the TI.

I would use my online pro-shops. I have bought both the Total and Radical and paid less for both and had them drilled locally. I paid like 135 for my total which came with a towel and Rough Buff and I just got my Radical for 100.00 with shipping free. I have used Bowling.com and Bowlingball.com and had great success in regards to shipping on time and ball specs being met. Just another fella's two cents.

$190 for a high-end ball with drilling is not too bad, especially if inserts are included in that price.  If not, it might depend on how much he wanted for inserts.  The shop here wants about $30 for two fingers and the thumb, and just for that I won't go to him.  If it were about $190 out the door, I wouldn't have a problem.

The TI would be a step up from the OI, and with the Rough Buff finish, should handle some carrydown as well.

Its all about the standard cost of living for the area. Houses back home are triple the worth compared to homes here. Its ridiculous. People are happy to pay 170 for a TO here. People are happy to pay 190-212 for one in NJ.

You guys just don't know!

Try $259+tax for most all high end balls. I think that includes drilling. but not sure about the grips and slug. So around $280 after tax. Midline balls run about $189+tax. Entry levels are around $109-$119+tax. If you bring a NIB ball in that you did not buy from him, he charges $60 for drilling.

Now you know why I buy all my equipment online. I have a good driller that I drive 40 minutes to go see and he drills out of his building on the side. Only $25 for grips and slug. He used to run a proshop but gave it up and kept his equipment for personal use.


So $190 for a total locally is not too bad.

EXPENSIVE!?! lol over in america you have no idea how good you have it!

i just bought and drilled a special agent for 180 pounds. which will aquait to about $350! so if i could get a ball for $190 id be laughing! in fact id probably buy 2 balls.

I must say buying bowling ball in US is much cheaper than over sea.

The price that my proshop guy charge is included bowlingball, drilling, inserts (for me), and no tax (if i pay in cash). Well i guess i'll stick with my local proshop then. He usually charge me $40 for drilling and inserts if i bring a brand new ball into his shop.

Anywayz, about TI...can I say it can pretty much replace my old AI? I have around 300-350 games on it. Although it still has some juice in it but it is nothing like it used to be, I had it resurfaced twice but the life span of the reaction is getting shorter and shorter.

I feel Ur pain.. A Total Inferno or other "High-performance" balls go for around 380-400 US dollars here..

High end balls here run $230-240.  Infernos, Ones, Soakers, Actions, Lane 1s, Lanemasters, the lot of 'em.  There's a 15% league discount, but $30 for inserts pretty much eats that up.  I was looking through his catalog yesterday and mid-price balls like Vendettas and BVPs (which don't carry a 15% discount) are about $160 plus inserts.  Even with $66 for drilling (with inserts), it's cheaper to buy online.  Even with gas in my car driving two hours to my preferred shop is cheaper.

So, let me get this straight.  It is wrong to charge in excess of $50.00 to drill a blank because of one's conscience???  We as pro shops have to make a living as well.  Have you checked what it costs for a CPA to do taxes, a doctor's visit costs, or even what a car repairman or HVAC repairman costs per hour???  Some of them are up there as well.  Would you have a conscience in those fields as well to charge less???

Just trying to probe a little deeper into where your thoughts are coming from.

Hmmm, interesting.  I am glad to see you said it wrong to do that for other areas as well.  Now to one of your points.  Is it worse charge large amounts for something you NEED or something you WANT or WISH to have???  I would agree that there is a difference there, but something tells me we may not agree on the answer to my question.  Interested to hear your thoughts.
