Extra hole on Aboslute?
« on: March 07, 2005, 01:30:50 AM »
So I drilled my AI yesterday with the pin 4 1/2 cg kicked out at 55 degrees  pin is below the ringfinger.  I ended up with about 7/8's worth of side weight and about 3/8 finger weight.  I am going to throw it today my question is if I think it's to sharp or strong coming off the corner where should I put the extra hole and how much side weight should I look to want?  My pap is 5 1/4 and 1/4 up.  I questioning this because I went and watched out city tourney yesterday (I bowl this coming Saturday I always perfer a little scouting) and saw tons of corner pins standing from to much corner.  So basically I want this to be fairly smooth reaction coming off the break point.  I have a smooth release so putting to ball down earlier isn't the problem.  Any ifo would be great.

without any other suggestions, its always safe to put the weight hole at the interstection of your vertial axis line and a line drawn through your center of grip and cg of the ball.  I am a medium/high rev player.. and put a hole past my VAL (for increased flare)... ball flares over the hole.  So I would suggest staying on the VAL or inside it a little.  As far as targeting the ending side weight, I would say stary with something smallish (maybe 3/4" bit 2" deep) and test it out...  if it is still too snappy, go a little bigger... maybe 1" bit 2" deep.  To smooth it out more go to 3" deep... and/or a little bigger hole.  If testing it out isn't an option... then I would go somewhere in the middle... maybe 7/8" bit 2.5" deep?
