What's next for C-System?... a 4.5?
« on: May 16, 2010, 12:36:47 PM »
I own both C-System 2.5 & 3.5.  I must admit that I really love these balls.  My average increased by 25 pins since I started using these. (I'm just a league bowler).

Based on the numbers (2.5, 3.5), I would assume that the next will be a C-System 4.5.  Somebody mentioned this in the other post.  Is this the next one?

This is a Hybrid C-System 3.5 LE being released overseas this month
Does it make it to the USA?  Only Brunswick knows. . .

@nocarey:
I've also read about this Hybrid C-System 3.5 LE here http://www.sunbridge-group.com/pc/brunswick/index.html.  As you can see, there are other variation of balls that might not reach USA (like Diamond Back Pearl).  I'm just curios on what's next in line for C-System since it's almost 6 months ago since it's release.  Release date b/w 2.5 & 3.5 is only 3 months.

@urbanshaft:
Having this ball will not automatically increase your average.  There are lots of parameters which needs to be considered and you have to make adjustments.  Ball surface, axis rotation, axis tilt, ball speed, breakpoint, entry angle, etc..  You cannot change the lane oil pattern but you can change the others (ball & release).  I'm not an expert and this is only my opinion.

Early summer isn't a good time to release new bowling balls. You figure they will shoot for early August when leagues start back.

Sometimes some of the overseas stuff gets released over here. I got the DB Pearl off ebay and it rolls great. There was also the Wild Hurricane on there for a while. Some of the revolutions and us act stuff gets on there as well.

I'm sure there will be some more in the c-systems series to come.

Did you try a duller surface??
I don't know if I would call the c-system 3.5 an oil monster OOB but I can definitely see it make moves on conditions that my other stuff won't budge on.
I actually like the reaction it gives me.. Like I said , a noticeable difference in the ability to handle oil compared to my other balls but still gets down the lane and makes a pronounced move to the pocket.. Other heavy oil balls I have used just tend to roll early and smooth and hook less overall..
If that is what you want I am pretty sure a duller surface will give you the look you are looking for...

Don't.
It's a 500/4000 finish.
Start with 2000 and work your way down.

agreed.. a straight 4000 finish will reduce the friction and will make the ball hook even less in oil

the 500 finish roughs the base surface and creates peaks and valleys then the 4000 smooths out the peaks a bit when they hit it for a few seconds..but it still leaves a lot of the underlying roughness.
