I've gotta give props to my boy T.J. Smith. Today while bowling in the Utah State Tourney T.J. posted scores of 248, 297 and 266 for a grand total of 811! It was his first ever 800 set and I couldn't be happier for him. He was using an Avalanche Pearl drilled 4 x 4 with a weight hole on his PAP. Not too shabby for a 19 year old kid who's only been throwing the rock for all of 4 years...Way to go TJ!!!

Wow, nice shooting! And either those are some bone dry lanes or the kid has some sick revs (or both) to be throwing an 800 with an Avalanche Pearl used all three games!

Thanks every one it was a great day and i do have quite a bit of revs playing about 20 out to about 9 with the pearl and it was just smooth on the back end but hitting pocket solid my brother actually joked saying he felt the groud vibrate when it smashed the pocket i did find out at this new house it was the first 800 series throw so i am proud of my timing saving up for this moment thanks again guys for all the support

The house just opened within the past month. Brand new Pro Lane surface. Plenty of oil inside, but the outside was available from the start. Most bowlers had to move inside as the lanes transitioned. T.J. does have plenty of hand, and will develop into an even better bowler with some time and seasoning.
The nice thing about the green/black Avalanche is that the cover is fairly strong, but the core keeps the ball smooooooooooth as it finds friction.
I was bowling at the same time on the other side of the house (second shift) so I ended up with my Avalanche playing 3rd arrow out to around 8 then back to the pocket. I could have used it the whole time, and looking back probably should have. This ball is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
Once again, nice bowling, T.J.
