BB.com Infernos....Remake or Not?
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:59:53 PM »
I know Ric Hamlin has stated these are remakes, but bowlingball.com are stating theirs are NOT. I just wanted to share the info I have gathered so far.

Here are some questions and responses I have sent and received from bowlingball.com.

 QUESTION

> Message: Hi, I just ordered a Inferno from you and I am curious as to if these
Original Infernos are remakes or leftovers from original production? Thanks

ANSWER

Currently, the ones that we have are the original ones that were left over.

QUESTION
quote:
Umm...I contacted Brunswick and they said these are remakes!!! Why would you > tell me they are original left overs??? I've ordered 4 remakes now. I do not > appreciate being lied to. >

ANSWER
quote:
Whether they remade the balls for someone or not does not change the fact that we found 10 cases in the corner of our warehouse. We have over 100,000 bowling balls in our 33000 sq ft warehouse. They did not remake the bowling ball for us. Thank you for emailing, http://www.bowlingball.com

QUESTION
quote:
So you will guarantee that these balls will be stamped "made in usa"??? ALL the originals that were made on the first production were made in the usa and stamped. ALL the remakes were made in their mexico plant and will not bear the usa stamp.

ANSWER
quote:
We have no idea, we found these when taking inventory at the end of the year. If
these would have come from Mexico we would have known.

I think he wants to stash them away for resale later unless I have misunderstood his post.  After they dry up again, even the remakes will probably fetch around $150.  From a performance standpoint, the remake should perform exactly like the original did.

My point is that bb.com says their supply is not remakes. They told me they were not so I ordered 4. Now if they come and are remakes then I did not get what I paid for. I would not have bought 4 of them if they are in fact remakes. Same ball or not. I have heard from people here as well as locals that some balls are having problems since the plant moved to mexico. I already have a ORIGINAL Inferno and thought I would pick up 4 more if they are the ORIGINALS.

Brunswick just ran a new batch of these balls.  They are the original ball, remade, just like the Danger Zone or Teal Rhino Pro of the past.  They are the exact same ball, not like other companies remakes.

We just got our shipment today of 68 balls.  All the specs have been listed.

I think its funny that there where people paying $200 plus for a supposed RARE origonal inferno ball NIB not long ago and now they are making them again for $120 bucks.. LOL..

If I did pay the $200 + price I would not be to happy with Brusnwick for re-making the ball..

Jkiser,

I agree with you 100% and I knew this would happen.  I just picked up a remake Inferno for $109 shipped.  This alone should tell you it's not worth trying to stash away bowling balls as collectors items.  Any ball can and will be remade at anytime.  I'm sorry, but if you have an Original and want to sell it to me for $250, but I can get the same thing remade for $110..which do you think I'm going to take?

I never threw the one Made in the USA...so it doesn't matter to me how the Remake reacts compared to..if it works..it works.

Heh, I still have 3 Originals, and when the remakes run dry, mine will still be worth more.

I don't plan to sell them anytime soon.
