Free Brunswick ball from league
« on: July 14, 2007, 05:26:51 PM »
I'm in a league which gives you a free Brunswick ball. Right now the only 2 balls I have are a Hammer Toxic and a Spare Ball. I'm trying to find a ball which works better in oil than my toxic but not a ball that needs oil. Any Suggestions?

P.S. I'm a Stroker which has a ball speed of about 14-15 and medium Revs.

Try the Fury, and if needed, bring the cover up to around 1000-2000 abralon.  This ball is very versatile.

I would agree with this. Seems the FURY is great OOB, but a slight tweak of the cover is what most people seem to need. I threw mine for a couple weeks and could not really control it. So I different Abralon finishes on it and found that 1000 worked best for me.

Get the Fury and try different sandings on it. If you do not like it, you can always send it to me...

What choice of ball is the league offering? Most Have-a-Ball leagues give you a specific choice of a certain ball or priceline of balls.

Any Brunswick Ball that is in any current line. The fury is looking pretty promising right now.

For me, the FURY does NEED oil in its out-of-box finish anyways.

My fury is currently at the shop, getting the holy crap polished out of it so that I can slowly work my way down through the grit range until I find the one that works best for me.

Starting with a polish and working my way down always seems to work better for me, that way I tend to not end up with too much reaction.  I tried the out-of-box finish first, just to get a look at how aggressive the ball was to start with so I would have a reference point.
