thats a wonderful thing. do you know you can buy a fury on bowlers paradise for 79.95. i just spent 209.00 for a twisted fury. if i would have found this out earlier i would have bought this ball instead of the twisted fury. thanks brunswick for letting this online store stick it to all the local pro shops. some of these shops still have this ball in there stores. so how are they going to sell them at 199.00 when i can buy them at 79.00. great job.               ps. anybody hungry for some tacos

agreed pro shops cant compete with the prices the only thing we can do is overcharge people to drill there balls that the only way we can make money that and after someone buy a pre drilled and it ain't right we fix it. my opinion even before i started working in a pro shop was i would rather buy a ball face to face know what im getting and know that there drilling it the way i like and if it cracks hey they'll replace it as long as its under warrantee. the thing that gets me is people wanting me to give them there hand size and get pissed when i charge them almost as much as i do to drill the ball for them so they can pay some guy they'll never meet to drill there ball for them without knowing how they throw where they track and so on

So you charge them to get their hand specs from you so they can get someone else to drill it? Just curious what one might charge for something like that.

My two cents.

So whats the big deal?  So what if it cost $80.00 at where ever, it still costs 55 to get it professionally drilled from them, add in 20.00 for shipping, sales tax in CA, and poof its between 160-170.  Now thats the price for a ball that has been out about a year now, if not longer.

Go to your local proshop operator and I'm sure that they would be willing to get near that price, its good business for them to do that.  Plus if you have a problem they would be willing to take care of it for YOU.  And if you get it on the internet, they would be more than willing to drill it for you, and if there is a problem, then they don't have to take care of it, because you did not buy it from them.  You would have to send it back to where you bought it. Once that happens any money that you saved is gone.  If you get a replacement, you would have to pay to get it drilled again!

You really have to think about how a proshop operates, they need to make sure that they carry inventory and at the same time not too much to cash strap the business.  Its a fine line and if they have been in the business long enough, it should not be a problem for a well run proshop.

Most bowlers are loyal, if you drill the ball properly, then they will come back.  If they don't then you have to give them the opportunity to fix it.  If that doesn't work then go find another driller.  But that should never happen if the person wants your business and your future business.

You have choices, decide what is important to you.

I understand it from both sides, I used to work in a shop and can sometimes find better deals online then at the local distributor.  If thats the case, then the proshops need to get some of there supplies from online sellers.  All in all its easier to go through my local proshop.

Actually you can now buy a Fury and a Fury pearl  both for $199, at both bowlersparadise, and the bowling store.  The Fury by it self is $79.

And I would think that, any day now, they will have the Twisted on sale also.
After all,  it has been out for 4-5 months now,  and I am sure that the Big B's dist. will start crying that the "sales on the ball have slowed down to a crawl"

I wish I could afford to pay my pro shops prices. 200 dollars for a twisted and I get to pay for drilling and thumb slug on top of that. Add whatever taxes you want.....still isn't cost effective to purchase my bowling balls from a proshop around here.

Chad,  $200 for a Fury that does not include drilling,  is really high!!!
Most shops should be selling that ball drilled for around $189-$200.

I agree, the price is high. Just giving my reasons for shopping online. It is not as cut and dry as people want to make it.

Chad,  right now bowling.com is selling the Twisted for $144.99.  If you pay about $40-$50 to get it drilled,  then a pro shop selling that ball for $189-$200 is in the ballpark with their price.

Now based on what has happened with the last two Fury's,  the Fury and now the Fury pearl,  I as a consumer, would be really careful about buying a Twisted at $144.  Wasn't that about what a Fury pearl was selling for last week???

I would "wait and see" if the Twisted gets reduced to $99,  like the Fury and the Fury pearl.  And possibly save $44.99!!!!
