It definitely gains control in the midlane but it doesn't lose power as a result. It will move in a backend too, but because it will also get a grip in the oil (midlane) it's a great oil ball with small backends.
I just got mine and it's a really good ball. Allows you to play the line you'd like when the lanes are oily early on. And allows you to play a deeper line for greater pocket angle and ball speed when they dry out a bit.
But it's not like a particle ball if that's what you're asking. It doesn't burn up or roll out easily, which is great of course. It seems to find the pocket easily.
I haven't played down and in because I haven't had to yet. I do know this ball liked to miss outside more than inside on a THS. It left 10 pins sometimes (rarely, but noticeable)when I missed inside but always recovered and killed the pins when I missed the breakpoint outside. It hits really hard.
The best way I'd describe the reaction is smooth through the heads, straightening out through the midlane and then flipping very controllably to the pocket in the backend, almost gaining revs it seems and a strong finish.
Great heavier oil ball and medium oil ball if you're willing to play about 5 boards deeper. i imagine it lasts long and holds up like all my Brunswick equipment has.
