A team mate of mine is going to get a new ball and needs help with the selection. Since his son works for a Brunswick company he is going with the Big B of course. He currently bowls with a Pink Hammer and a Vis-a-ball. The hammer is drilled finger tip. He is still a pretty much a straight shot bowler with very little curve. I think that an Avalanche Solid Blue/Red with a mild drill would be the way to go. Any other thoughts?

The Twisted fury would be a good choice to go with. I threw my friends the first time ever a couple weeks ago and second game I had 11 out of 12 strikes. For me the Twisted is a lot weaker then any ball I currently own and was using it on medium - medium dry lanes but, I'm getting one in today with a different layout to hopefully give me a more pronounced move on the backend.

The Avalanch I have heard is good as well but I haven't thrown it my self.

He might be throwing it straight because of the ball. Pink Hammers don't do much on today's oil volumes. If you go with the Avalanche solid you really don't have to drill it weak either, they're pretty tame.

i love my avalanche solid.
shot 246 280 267 238 in league with it last night.
its just steady, predictable and hits hard.
i took the ball down to 1000 grit and the pin below the ring
