Total Vs. Fury
« on: March 15, 2007, 09:07:18 AM »
I'm going to get a new ball, its between the Fury and Total Inferno. I've been hearing alot of complaints about the Fury with it being very touchy on its drilling. I haven't heard alot of complaint about the Total Inferno though. I currently have an Ultimate Inferno and i'm in love with that reaction. How would both of these compare to it?

IME the Total will get you closer to the "look and feel" of the Ultimate than the Fury will.

The Fury is much more aggressive than the total, and totals backend is much more smoother. But, IMO, the fury hits like a friggin tank, while the total only hits like a concrete truck.
Oh yeah, the Fury is kinda ugly. No flare or sparkle to it. Looks like an ultimate than got burned all over.
I would go with the Fury. . .its definitely worth it. Reacts similarly on many different patterns; very predictable.
Either way you go here, they are both good balls!

I am also getting a new ball.  I ended up deciding on Awesome Revs.  However, my pro shop guy suggested it be between that and the Total.  He said the Total is a great ball with a ton of backend reaction, and that if it's more overall hook you're looking for, to go with the Total.  From what he's seen and experienced, the Total hooks quite a bit more than the Fury.

That isn't true, just download the fury video at brunswick's website.  The Fury is much stronger than the Total.

The pro shop guy should watch this video and know the truth:

Thanks,

If you've bowled with both and compared them, that's ok.  However, the goal of most bowling companys is to make you think that the new ball hooks the most.  There's no way I'm going to trust a video made by that very company.  Of course they'll make the Fury hook more.  There's a number of things they could do to create that image.  I have heard from others though that the Fury does hook more than the Total.  I'm not sure, just what someone told me.

Weird, mine is OOB, with about 15-20 games on it. Might have been the flash of the camera?

I have both the Fury and the Total drilled the exact same.
4 x 4 1/4.
See profile for PaP.

Fury is about 7 boards stronger then my total. During league, Fresh 38ft. shot, I start with the fury due to the huge amount of oil in the middle then by about 1/2 way into the 2nd game (depending on who I am bowling) I go to my total about 5-6 boards right of my Fury line.

The balls compliment each other well. They are a great 1-2 punch.

Hands down Fury is only for alot of oil. Wed night league is a 42ft shot with a Shi# load of oil. My total don't move 5 boards on that shot till about the 3rd game. The fury gives me a nice controlled shot to the pocket playing about 25 to about 8 at the break.

That's the thing I was probably so confused about.  I suppose the Fury would hook more in oil.  I just said what was on the top of my head (wrong again)  Anyways thanks for the info.
