Can be used for medium to medium-dry (medium-light) oil patterns. (Unless you sanded it to 60 grit and left it dull, I can't imagine using it on a medium heavy oil pattern. Besides that is not what it was intended for.)
Core is medium-low RG with lowish differential.
Wrong drilling in the  wrong hands or on wrong oil pattern can make the ball very skid/flippy.
This same characteristic is what made the ball so popular, as it has a lot of "kick" to it, with good carry.  
The low-ish RG differential (and resulting medium-low flare potential) generally makes it more appropriate for lighter oil patterns than most other PK 18 cverstocks. (Kind of similar to the Lane#1 Silver Diamond in that respect.)

A friend used one sanded to 2000 grit this past season to reduce the wet/drt, over/under characteristics of the house we bowled on. I also have one, but like yours, not yet drilled. I am very leary of what would be a good drill pattern for my release on my conditions. So I can't offer personal suggestion (which is rare) on a drilling.
