Have you guys change the surface on your Genius? If so what grit and how do you like the reaction?
-
I have mine at approx. 2000-3000 right now. For what I'm typically seeing it has been much better. It just picks up the midlane and still finishes strong, but not as angular. Carry is good as long as I get some head oil. Monday had a 290 with it. And, yes, it was the last 11 and not the front 11 (thank Heavens).

I never quite matched up with the Genius. I had 2 of them one pin up & one rico'd and for me it just seemed to be too condition specific. I tried some different surfaces as well. But I also don't match up with almost any asymetric balls.

I have one with a stronger drill that I have put 500 then 2000 Siaair on. The ball rolls well and handles a good bit more volume than out of the box. It still gets good length but is smoother at the breakpoint.

Did you guys leave the polish on or off?
-
No polish of any kind.

No polish of any kind.
Same here.

Will a 500 ab be ok for heavy oil?
-
You could try 500, but my guess is that 1000 would be better. Balls with too much surface respond too slowly to friction, and you may experience poor carry.
What may seem like "heavy" oil to one guy can be medium to the next. It's all relative. Remember that no ball hooks in oil. They all need to find some friction somewhere before they can change direction.

Ok , thanks for the advice.
