Has anyone ever bowled with this ball?

I have been struggling last and this summer with heat and high humidity - I will get a Dry/R in the course of this week as a last ersort as I tried a Sahara, (black) Pure HAmmer, Red Pearl Urethane Hammer, Reaction Rip and TPC Shooter on dry/grippy turf. The Red Pearl Hammer was a beauty so far, but it lacks a core and roll. Almost anything else is too aggressive - so I try to fit the Dry/R in between.

From the specs and what I have seen fram a friend's Dry/R, the ball looks promising. Very good length (weaker Punisher cover) and a late but good, rather smooth back end. Yet, surprisingly much movement. A PK17 PG pearl is truly a step up from the Dry/R, but as big B recommends, I would still drill the ball for length and at least with the pin 4 1/2" from PAP, or it might move too early on short oil.
I will mine either set up with a label drilling for a tame back end reaction, or set it up exactly like my Sahara as a 2 punch (pin 1" above ring finger, CG stacked - but I am not sure if this works the way I want to since the PG has no influential MB).

A review will take some time, but I am positive about the ball.

I used mine for an entire season on incredibly dry, old, roughed-up wood lanes, and It hooked about 15 boards or so by the third game of league.

It is very very smooth when you have a bit more oil than described above.
But like the other guys say, it's a GREAT dry lane ball.
To me, it's the best looking of the Power Grooves, too.

When I got back to shooting on synthetics with a 'regular' amount of oil, it was hard to get turn on the ball. But it IS possible to throw it on a medium, medium-light shot, anywhere btw 5 and 10, but I'd think one would have to play pretty direct. This is where it was very smooth for me.

Get one! It's a good investment for dry lanes.

The dry/r is a really good dry lane ball.  It can be used with a strong drill on med/light.  As far as the XXXL, the ball does have a purpose.  I own one and when I want to play up the boards, in the track area after the lanes are dry the XXXL is the best ball.  Plastic can in many instances be thrown for score up the boards, if you want to get in on dry, you can't with plastic, but it does serve a purpose.  Go with the dry/r for an all around dry lane ball though.
