Title: Happy early birthday to me(lee)!
Post by: dougb on December 04, 2013, 11:21:06 PM
Well my birthday is coming up on Saturday so I went out and bought myself a new Melee to use that night.

I did get a chance to try it for two games and the ball is every bit as smooth as my beloved Versa Max, but the reports about it reading the mids better and a little more pop on the back end appear to be true. I should know after some more games. I can tell you this much: I loved it today. The ball was happy anywhere between the 4 and 12 board. I could play down and in or belly it out a little... either way it would make a very smooth move to the pocket. I got at best 3-4" of flare OOB. The ball has that classic Brunswick roll that this lower revs/speed stroker appreciates.

And I love the old school look. Makes me think of the C300 Pulse.

More reviews to come soon. Seems like a perfect compliment to fit between my Burgundy Ringer and Strike King Black Pearl for THS conditions.

Well now that I've put a little track on this ball I have say it is every bit as good as my Versa Max, if not better!  Mine is still OOB and on a house shot it reads the lane perfectly... smooth as silk as it travels down the whole lane with that signature Brunswick arc.  Keeps the pins low and carries the rack.

This is not the ball motion that keeps product flying off the shelf but one that every bowler should have in his bag.  It's money.  It will not over-react to friction but actually comes back from farther than I expected.  It just seems to find it's way to the pocket.  I can't put it down!

Sorry to jack your quote, but I couldn't have said it any better than this! This is exactly what I am seeing from the folks throwing this ball in my area.

This IS a MUST HAVE ball for your arsenal!

Nice ball .... swing that CG out about 1 more inch and it would be a perfect drilling for me.
