Currently the solid avalanche is the only Brunswick ball I own, but I love the consistency this ball shows. It is a great piece, but lacks the grip for medium-heavy oil. It has been suggested to me that the ultimate inferno re-release would be the closest reaction for heavier oil.
I don't care about any monster hook, I am looking for a ball that is an avalanche on steroids. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try sanding it to 500 abralon?

Has that ball been released yet? Agreed, it would be a great 1-2 punch!

No to the sanding. I want to keep the avalanche just like it is oob. I need another ball that reacts the same in heavier oil for a solid 1-2 punch

Copperhead. Same cover (except dull) and stronger core. Last I heard was later in June for release.

Second the Copperhead or the just discontinued Wizard. Same coverstock, more powerful core (the C-head is even better suited for oily shots due to a lower RG) and more OOB surface. I'd wait for the C-head to hit the stores, I expect this thing to be a good addition, a true step up from the Wizard with its bell core.
