drilling recommendation on twisted Fury??

I just got a Used twisted Fury, and I need some recommendations on a layout that would work best with my specs? I would like it to have some mid lane hook and backend. this will probably be my benchmark ball.

specs:

PAP: 3" X 1/4" Down
Low Tracker
Ball Speed: 13-14mph
revs:?? i havent got a clue

anyways the layout that is on there looks something like this, id say pin on it is about 3. sorry pin is supposed to be over the ring finger.

Perhaps with your slow ball speed the layout on it already wouldn't be a terrible decision. I am assuming the MB is in line with the cg and pin.

With your low track and slower ball speed that layout may be pretty good. I'd try it and then adjust the cover if needed later.

Ryan, you could probably make that layout work for you, but if you're looking for this ball to be the first out of the bag, you'll probably want to hit the cover a bit, perhaps taking it down to 1200 smooth.  That will keep the ball from pushing too far in the midlane.

Did you drill that Ultra Zone?  If so, how does it react for you?

Sorry in the drawing the pin is supposed to be over the Ring finger... would that change all ur recommendations?

ray, No i havent gotten the chance to get that thing drilled yet hahah

I am not a driling Guru by any means, but I have a Twisted Fury and it works really well for me on medium oil on synthetic lanes. It has a 2 1/2" Pin and is drilled 4 1/2 x 4 5/8 MB with pin under fingers.

I too have slower speed and also have low revs. On the lane conditions I mentioned here, this drilling works well for me on a lot of different balls.

If you have slower speed you are going to want the ball to be longer and with the low revs obviously you would want it stronger here is what I would suggest

Yes, put the pin above the MIDDLE finger. Why? With your low track it's a stronger layout. Pin above instead of below. Why? In my opinion, with your slower speed the ball will save it's energy longer.
You can always adjust the surface, as Bracket Creep suggests, but 2000 abralon works for lots of people unless they're on pretty dry lanes. You can shine it more if needed in that case. MB about 45 degrees. Good luck.

Go with this.

Drill the ball strong and you won't be sorry. Ball has plenty of built in length.

This layout will give you good midlane and an excellent back end reaction.

geetaan,

What most are not taking into consideration is your PAP at 3". In other words, you "spin" the heck out of the ball. If you go pin below the fingers, make sure it's below the middle finger. By going below the ball should pick up the midlane sooner, by going above the middle finger the ball should go a little longer.
