Heavy oil
« on: October 25, 2008, 08:58:06 AM »
just wondering on which ball u guys would suggest. I have a twisted fury with pin 4 3/4 from pap and below the fingers and early in the day that just is not enough just skids to far but to get it to work i half to slow speed way down. i mean i dont the ball real hard like 15 but to get it to come back half to throw it like 11mph thats just to slow and then my timing is off and i get sloppy and throw it everywhere.I like playing anywhere between 18 and 5 swinging it straight up the boards dosent matter but in there. Im kinda thinking either a cell or twisted fury solid and i was just wondering what kind of drill would i get i really like the pin being below my finger

Assuming your TF is the original pearl, The newer Twisted Fury Solid is an excellent choice for Medium-hevay oil with its stock surface. It should be an easy to drill and easy to use as a step up, keeping it in the same family of balls.

And the new Maxxx Zone is even stronger. Its cover will be the best traction in oil you will find in a Brunswick ball.

I agree the Maxxx Zone or the twisted solid are good choices. If you are talking about a flood then consider a Mammoth, you can find them on eBay for a reasonable price.

After having thrown the Maxxx Zone through some fairly heavy oil, I will second that vote. The Twisted Solid and Copperhead are also good choices with the right surface prep.
