Altering Mammoth Surface

Has anyone changed the surface of their mammooth and used rough buff. To what success did you have, or failure for that matter. Thanks for the help

Mine has been best at 2000 abralon. I did try some rough buff, but for the lane condition that the Mammoth is intended (heavy oil) the ball didn't read the lane as accurately as it did with the abralon finish.

2000 Abralon here also. I hear some have taken theirs to 4000
