Hey Brunswick Fanatics,
I'm a Track guy myself, but I told my friend that bowls with me in our serious All-Star league on Thursday nights that I would help him find a suitable bowling ball to add to his all Brunswick arsenal. You see my friend is slightly above a tweener in my eyes. His PAP is 4 1/2 X 1/2 up. He has an arsenal right now consisting of the Ultimate Inferno, Absolute Inferno, and the Pepsi Spare ball I gave him a few days ago. Last week during league his reaction was very poor.
He tried using the UI but to no avail the ball hooked way too much. He took it a step down to the AI but he got the over/under reaction horribly! I suggested to him one of Brunswick BVP series like either the Punisher or the Rampage. I feel he needs something as a step down from the Inferno line and I have heard from certain Brunswick followers that the BVP is a good series to go with.
So I guess here is what I feel he needs, anybody's thoughts on this would be more than welcome and if you have any help, that would help too because I intend on getting him one of the bowling balls suggested below:
My Friend's Brunswick Arsenal:
Ultimate Inferno -- For the slick stuff, I believe he has it drilled Stacked Leverage and it has a weight hole.
Absolute Inferno -- For the medium conditions, this is his most angular shaped reaction ball.
(HELP ME FILL IN THE VOID HERE)
* BVP Rampage -- I suggested to him a layout that would give him more length; yet, more snap on the back end. Would this be a more versatile ball than the Punisher?
* BVP Punisher -- From the specs I read on Brunswick's site, this ball goes longer and turns harder than the Rampage. Would this be a good step down?
I have even suggested one of the Asymmetrical Zones but as a last resort because of the aggressiveness of asymmetrical cores. I myself have thrown the Zone Classic and Impulse Zone and felt the ZC had a ton of backend while the Impulse was very smooth and controlled.
So please guys if you can help me put together something for my friend that would be great, he is in a drought. His pro shop only allows Hammer, Ebonite, Storm, and Brunswick and since he doesn't wanna be like the rest of the other people, he chose to take Brunswick's route and promote them. So please help me so I will know what kind of Christmas present to bring to his front door step this year! Thanks guys and God Bless!
