« on: December 05, 2005, 10:47:51 AM »
hey, i need help finding a medium-light oil ball. mainly when they haven't oiled the lanes in a while thats when i want to use this ball. I now use:

Medium/Heavy - Absolute Inferno/ 2E on Brunswick Site
Medium- Smokin' Inferno/ 2E on Brunswick site... why i have the same layouts on 2 balls i dunno?
Medium-Light- ????

If you guys can help me out with a drilling for the ball it would appreciated also. Medium Speed (15 MPH if thats medium) Good amount revs i have no idea bout everything else.  Im open to any company, thanks

Get a Punisher and drill it 2E, like the SI. It will give you a very similar reaction on medium-dry conditions, when the stronger stuff burns up.

Other option can be a simple Power Groove pearl reactive (these babies are quite stong and true keepers when anything else fails) drilled similarly, should react a bit more even than the Punisher.

i was just thinking bout somethin' different on the layout cause that would make 3 balls with 2E layout and i dont really prefer it. and also would u have 2 polished and 1 rough buff ball?

Talk to your ball driller and tell him/her(?) what you want the ball to do and for which condition it is intended. Having the driller watch you bowl is also an very good source for fine-tuning the recation with pin and CG placement.

Surface prep is more an individual thing, and I'd consider this as a 2nd step after having experience with the balls, how they react and how they should complement each other. If a polished one is too itchy, take the glaze off with a high grit pad. If you need traction in oil, sand the ball. But this is your personal decision upon ball reaction and what you want the ball(s) to do. There is very much room for experiments and fine-tuning to it, no fear!
