Thank you Brunswick!
« on: October 08, 2006, 06:37:25 AM »
I just wanted to say thank you to Brunswick for providing some outstanding customer service.  I had been struggling to get any kind of reaction out of my Zone Classic for the past couple of months.  I took it to my proshop guy and we started playing around with surfaces.  When the ball had any kind of shine, it skidded 58 feet and barely wrinkled on the backend.  With the ball dulled down it checked up immediately and still had little movement.

He contacted Brunswick and asked for some help on it, they had him send it back to Brunswick and they found that the ball had a bad coverstock on it.  To remedy the problem, Brunswick sent me a new Red Zone to use instead.  I just picked it up from the shop and the ball rolls great.

So again, a thanks goes out to the fine people of Brunswick  for providing some of the best customer service in the business.

Hows the Red Zone roll?

For me, with the ball in OOB condition I got very good length with a strong but very controlled move at the break.

The very FIRST runs of Zone Classics were found to be defective. They were recalled and the pins were drilled out and replaced with red pins.

However, some managed to find their way into some peoples hands..

Keep looking... I'm sure there's a 300 in one of those balls you keep buying!!

Yeah, it's true.  If you check the Approved Balls list for the USBC you'll notice that the Red Pin was approved a month before the green pin.

Wether it was a RED, GREEN, or PURPLE pin, it is great to hear that Brunswick came good for the problem. Just kind of surprised that they did not post something on their website about it. Maybe like a recall they have for vehicles.

But at least they cam good for it. THAT IS GREAT TO HEAR!!!

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE & PYRO. STAND 15 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND SMASH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

The ball was taken out of production before the move.

I wish they'd do that for the POS violet quantum I bought..

The violet only has a different color coverstock, not a different rective formulation.  Do some research and drill it properly/match the surface to your game, not post inane comments here.
