How can the big B keep re-inventing itself?
« on: March 21, 2006, 01:05:17 PM »
I just don't understand.  I'm looking over the Elite line of balls and I cannot help but notice that every ball looks just like the old moster line that brunswick had.  Now they are selling the mid range balls/core combo for 300 bucks??  Who is buying these and do they in fact perform all that great.  They have done this same thing with Quantam in the past, and of course we all fell for it.

Brunswick doesn't own the Elite line, they just manufacture them.  I'm assuming that the prices are not Brunswick's choice.

agreed but they are obviously using the same molds as were used on the monster line.. just don't seem like good business to me.  I mean to me it's like re-badging a 350z and selling it as an infinity q35coupe...

I'd be willing to bet that Brunswick is making money on the Elite line because they don't have to worry about sales.  They just have to make sure that Elite is giving them more money per ball than it costs them to make one.

BrunsRicH hit the nail on the head.  Brunswick makes the Elite balls, but it's Elite's specifications and prices.  Personally, I would never buy one because I think they're way overpriced.  Still, you can't blame Brunswick for what Elite is doing, all they do is manufacture the balls.
