How is your ultimate drilled
« on: December 22, 2005, 11:37:14 AM »
I just acquired a used UI from Joe.  The current drill is 5 x 5 with the pin down below bridge, cg stacked pretty much below that.  I am deciding whether or not to keep this layout or change.

Current arsenal is(in order of strength):
SCB
Werewolf
Werewolf 2
Crimson Ex
RPZC
XXXL

So, how is yours drilled, what are the pros and cons??

Mine is drilled similar.  Mine is drilled with the pin below the bridge but the cg is kicked right a little bit with a weight hole.  when I got it, it was drilled this way so I kept it.  Mine picks up very early when dull and has a strong rolling arc into the pocket when polished it goes longer with a hard arc on the backend.  Watch the release though if you dont release it right mine rolls different and lacks hook and hitting power on the backend.

Mine is pin right of ring and above slightly, cg straight below, 600 grit with ruff n buff. I use mine for heavy oil-medium oil and it's great. It's got a great snap, and amazing carry, and vary predictable. That drilling seems to work best for me, and I've had great success with that ball.

Here is a picture of mine. It is a very unusual drilling, one I had never seen before. I got it from one of the members here and he used it in the world championship in Taylor, Michigan. It is supposed to be a very early rolling drilling. It has a large X hole down almost where a MB would be. I rarely use the ball. But when it is really a long and oily pattern, it should be great. I never see that though.
