Question about Strike Zone
« on: June 21, 2005, 03:13:44 PM »
One of my friends got a Strike Zone and our ball fit are really close, nearly to exact. Well the ball had the pin above the ring finger with the CG kicked out with the MB kicked out even further. This ball had a void hall but can't really tell you were or why there was one. The ball was left in box condition. He let me throw quite a few times and I think every time it flared so much it rolled over the void hall. It had to have flared like 7 to 8 inches. Also this ball caused me to track quite a bit lower than usual. I was wondering if any body else has had this problem and I also was wondering how should I drill it up my own so it wouldn't flare as much. I think my PAP is 3 7/8 over and 1/4 up. Thank you for your time.

Try putting some polish on it as well.  Even the staffers aren't throwing the Strike Zone in box condition--waaaaaay too strong.

I track lower with this ball as well, but only with the 5" pin up. Threw it without an x-hole to start and realized that it would need a flare reducer. Ball is a monster, neither is left in box condition!

Ball can handle a lot of oil!

I'll know for sure this weekend when I bowl on a 44' pattern in Indio.

Assymetricals will lower your track.

Stronger cores spin up faster thus shifting your initial track a bit lower than it would normally be.  I've found that myslef and others I bowl with who throw assymetricals are tracking about 1/2" or more lower on the assymetrical stuff.  There was a long detailed post about this in the track section awhile ago.

...pardon me while i use the search function, brb
