How to drill Avalanche Urethane?
« on: December 05, 2010, 07:24:51 AM »
How should I drill it? Stroker, around 290 RPM, 15 MPH ball speed, good amount of axis rotation. Want it for my big money league, which is a 2nd shift league. Thoughts on drilling?

don't drill it too weak, otherwise it's an expensive spare ball.i have an ogre urethane that's stacked leverage and i can use it for spares and when the shot is broken down.

+1.  My Natural is drilled the same way and I can do the same.  From what I gather, the Avalanche is also a tad bit stronger than the other urethanes on the market now.

It is not stronger in that it's not earlier. That is the good part. The Hype and the Desperado are much earlier and smoother but hook more. The AU is more resin like, which is what we're used to but retains its urethane like qualities: smoothness with the hit of resin.

The pearlized Urethane Avalanche gets easy length so for nearly everyone I prefer strong layouts.

Depends on your ball speed and the amount of oil you face.
I used a 5.25" pin to PAP (pin over the ring finger)

You could try this if you have a short pin version.
