polished scorchin' inferno
« on: July 21, 2007, 09:55:02 AM »
i used my scorchin' inferno polished today for the first time. i'd always used it dull or smoothsanded but since i had it polished for a pba regional tournament next weekend i thought i'd try it out. i had the ball scuffed with a 1,000 grit abralon pad and a generous amount of brunswicks factory finish high gloss polish was applied. this was way too much ball for my "a" game( a down and in shot betwen the 1st and 2nd arrows )so i steadily moved left during my first game as i got loosened up. the ball roll was very smooth and even arcing on a leftover shot from the day before. after warming up the best line was standing on 34, hitting 15 at the arrows with the ball going out to 6-7 down the lane appx. 38-40'. this was with medium speed and appx. 45 degrees of axis rotation. not really surprised that there was no skid/snap reaction with open play carrydown to the left and the right----just an even arcing motion. i wish the ball had been smoothsanded even finer as it would have got down the lane a little easier and had more backend reaction.

I've said it before, but I like mine much better polished. It allows me to play a little straighter, but finishes very strong. Great ball.

I shot my 4th and 5th 8 with my polished scorchin. Drilled 5X4 pin up, it was a great ball for med-hvy lanes.  I got to throw it ALOT more than oob.

a polished scorchin is a beast!  i did the same to mine but put it at 4000 then magic shine.  took it to league on friday nite and shot 711 with it.  gets great legnth, and a monster on the back.  and thats with ugly backends, for some reason they dont clean the backends on friday, and i've been struggling in that league.

mine never burned up when i used it dull. it was used either on my saturday night mixed league( tons of plastic ball carrydown ) or on the 44' long pba regional pattern. i never had a chance to use it polished until the other day. great reaction.

Got my scorchiin of ebay from Mike Scroggins. Pin next to the ring finger, cg kicked out a bit. Its in box condition I think. Had a good look on the scorpion and shark pattern with this ball. Its nice on medium heavy long oil.
