I know CG NOMADDAH, but...
« on: April 29, 2007, 04:48:05 AM »
I recently posted this in another forum but got no response, so, I figured I would go to the guys that have the TRUTH on the matter.

Ok, everyone now knows that the placement of the CG compared to your grip has no affect whatsoever on ball reaction due to the actual CG of the ball being very near the center of the ball.

My question is:
What about on more cover heavy balls like the Power Groove or Tropical Storm? Theroretically the CG would be closer to the cover and that "might" affect the reaction a bit if you start rotating the core. Its just a thought.

What do you guys think???

I think that is true, because on puck style cores the CG and the pin are usually in the spot, so when you move the CG, you also move the pin...

ummm, you know the RG value limit is 2.43 - 2.80 ??  coverheavy ball still need to within that range.  And by just looking at the core shape and pics from the manufacturer is quite deciving.  Coz the RG value is not just base on the core, I don't know exactly how to measure it but I know its including the cover, filler and core.  To answer your question, there shouldn't be any noticable difference, if you believe in CGNOMADDAH.

I believe two concepts are being mixed up.

Ending cg value and rg.

High rg balls can have no top weight.

Low rg balls can have high top weight.

no top weight and high top weight balls have different cg positions.
