Title: Idea for a solid and pearl
Post by: PowrKoil17 on January 07, 2012, 09:33:43 AM
Ok I have the B/G Centaur and the Dry/R and these 2 balls fit my bowling style perfectly and I love them because of that. What solid, pearl combination could I look at that would be slightly stronger but not require me to get in real deep to make them work. The stuff that I currently have most nights is to much for me and I have trouble being consistent with them because I can't get enough speed on them.

Brunswick/Visionary
Power Groove DryR
Green/Blue Centaur
Green Gargoyle
Ogre SS
Blue Sparkle Gryphon
Sapphire Zone Solid

Ditto on the justrico suggestion: Ulti-Max and Karma solid!!!

Train a child up in the way they should go and when they are old they will do some "Damn Good Bowling", be a "DV8" and not turn from it, besides bowling starts with a Big B!

I dont know your specs or game, so I can't really make a clear judgement. But in general, if you are having problems with balls like the gargoyle, gryphon, and ogre ss moving too much, I'd say the C system Ulti-max is probably too much ball. A good step up with a similar motion to the centaur/DryR combination would be the Karma Solid and Karma Pearl combo. Both are pretty weak, but they should be a step above your current combo. That and having a fresh cover with no oil soaked in yet will give you a noticeable difference. If you want a bit more noticeable gap between the 2 balls, get a massive damage instead of a karma solid, drill the massive damage strong with a low pin and knock the factory shine off with 1000 abralon. The massive will be stronger than the karma solid this way, giving you a noticeable gap between it and the karma pearl, but if it is too strong, put some rough buff or even high gloss polish on it, and it will get downlane in a little more tame manner.
Hope this is helpful

when I made my selections I made them with the thought of when I recommend equipment in building an arsenal, I try to make sure depending on amount of pieces they is room in reaction between them. The Ulti-Max would be on one end (and this is a fairly clean piece BTW) and the Karma solid. There is not enough difference between the solid & the pearl to recommend them. If you get 2 pieces that are too similar, why carry them both? and there is not enough room between the solid & the pearl other than surface prep...but still not enough difference
