question about an old ball
« on: October 30, 2007, 03:26:56 AM »
i just found a speed zone in the bowling alley and for my surprise it fits me ok just need some adjustment on the thumb

but something i dont get is, what is the speedzone? is it a solid? cuz it is drilled with pin little above and to the right of the ring finger, i would say about 3 inches to my pap and it moves very early and finishes strong
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

There was a solid Speed Zone, and a pearl Speed Zone Vapor.

Both had ArrowD coverstock (solid or pearl)- as far as I know a rather mild cover for lighter conditions. By today's standards, I guess the ball will be in the Power Groove, Punisher and Avalanche Pearl range.

Hope this helps a bit?

That's probable if you're rolling the Equation and RevolutionIST on lighter conditions or you have an early roll drilling on them. They're burning up and rolling out as opposed to hooking at the break point. The Speed Zone will go longer and save energy to recover on today's lighter conditions.

Reason #2067 why I still roll older equipment on THS.

Thats the way I usually end up getting good balls is off ebay or used thats not for my hand, usually cheap stuff, and ends up being better then the balls I spend 225+ on.

Columbia White Dot (big hook haha)

Yeah, right. "old school" stuff is just great. I recently caught a NIB Revolution Renegade off of ebay for half the price of a new Power Groove, and this baby flat-out rocks on medium to medium-dry lanes and turns heads of "better" bowlers, who even asked me what this ball was at all (it is from 2000). So much fun for a low price - never underestimate so-called old balls
