Impulse or Ultimate

I have been thinking about picking up one of these two choices.  BL, has a Ultimate that interests me, and I do like low rg resin balls.  My wife has the Impulse and I really like the look she gets with it, but I am afraid it is going to be too strong for what I see.  I don't NEED either one, but wouldn't mind trying one of them.

Thoughts?  Specs in profile.

Get both.  

IME, with both balls in box condition, the Ultimate is about three boards stronger than the Impulse overall.  The Impulse clears the fronts much better than one would expect from a particle ball.

Interesting question.  I haven't yet had the opportunity to try throwing the two side-by-side with the same surface prep, but I did have a polished Ultimate a while back, so I can offer an educated guess.  Even with polish, the Ultimate will want to start up sooner and get into a roll in the back.  So I'd expect that, while the overall hook would be equivalent, the Impulse would be a few feet longer than the Ultimate, and a bit stronger at the break.

Really, it sounds like both of them are too strong for me.  Guess I'll just have to wait for something else.

The smokin looks interesting, but $249 plus 12 for slug, 6 for inserts and 8.5% sales tax is just too much for me.

Have you considered the Rampage?  Think Smokin' in the front part of the lane, a little cleaner in the midlane, but a stronger change of direction in back.  Nice ball.

I thought about it once, I already have a Visionary Executioner(low rg pearl).  I just think there will be too much overlap.  

Maybe something down the road will spark my interest more.
