Brunswick doesn't work in this house.....
« on: January 10, 2006, 06:08:36 PM »
Tonight, I found out another house in town has a scratch league. I headed up there to hopefully sub. I found a team and got my equipment out. As I am putting my UI, Crimson Executioner and XXXL up on the ball return. This guy, from the other team, walks up and says, "I can tell you've never bowled here before". "Why is that?", I replied. "Because, Brunswick, Lane #1 and Columbia doesn't work here, only Ebonite and Storm do." Well, I said, "The XXXL is plastic, which I am pretty sure will work anywhere and the "columbia" is actually a Visionary ball". He said, "Yeah, I know".   wtf? douche....

Anyway, he starts talking like he is the proshop guys, which he may very well be(I am 90% sure he is). To make things better, we bowled head to head, I won 3 of 4 and total pins, my 819 to his 767 for four games. There was a guy on the pair next to me, 279(back 11), 300, and 224 for 803 for the first 3 games. What was he using????? Blazing Inferno....yep, Brunswick doesn't work in that house.  *rollseyes*

I have the funny phenomenon that my XXcel does ONLY work properly in one local house with 1 year old AMF/Qubica surface. On all the Brunswick lanes around, the ball does work, but lacks control. I have no idea why, I think I am going to mess with the surface a bit trying out Brunswick polish on the XXcel, maybe this improves grip.

UI on the left lane, Crimson Ex and Red Pin Zone classic on the right lane, and of course, the XXXL didn't miss one single pin.

Great story.  SOmetimes it is true....one type of companies current series of popular balls don't work...or the wrong drillings are put on.

Good story in my house.

Good friend of mine LOves to bowl and though not a great stylist is a strong guy who works real hard at it!  VEry focused when bowling.

He had a Punisher and told me ....it's no good.  (I think I told him it would be a good ball beneath his Absolute Inferno and Super Charge).  Well he got it drilled 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 and likes to play inside.....

He say's....no good...do you want to buy it!?:  I said...."I'd love to but you've paid pro shop prices and I wouldn't give enough.  I think your drilling is too weak.  So next time I see him and he says I got a "Hook" weighthole put in!  I said....UmmmmmI doubt that will do it!

You need a stronger pin and a little duller surface and to move a little right when you grab it!.

See him yesterday on pair next to me.  3 3/4 X 5 drillling...slightly duller and he shoots 742!

I asked wanto trade NOW?

NO WAY!

HE said..."You told me it was a good ball!"

He sounds a lot like our proshop operator. He has been only pushing Storm and mainly the Paradigm. He told me the Vapor Zone was not going to hook on our lanes.

Last night using my Vapor Zone against his Paradud: me, 185-242-232 him 161-179-158

In this case, it wasn't the Indian, it was the arrow. He is a better bowler than I am.

Gotta love it when someone tells you a certain brand wont work at a particular house then that person goes nuts with a ball that was said by a certain person it wont work. Good job, bet it felt great doing what you did too.

Good story because 2 years ago I switched house to a brunswick house and no one threw their equipment.... well needless to say to shot a grand for 4 games the first night and a couple of months go by and half the league was throwing brunswick....
