Husbands Birthday
« on: January 20, 2004, 03:20:52 AM »
My husband loves to bowl. I would like to purchase a bowling ball as a gift for his birthday but there are so many that I am unsure what to get. Can someone recommened one? His average is about 150. The balls are really expensive...Are there any lower cost options? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you-

One thing you could look into is if the pro shop offers gift certificates.  Another is to talk to the pro shop operator and see what he or she thinks would be a good ball for the type of bowler he is.  If you're looking for some less expensive options, something in the Monster line from Brunswick would be good, they might run you $130-$150 or so, and are great pieces of equipment.  It would help to know how he bowls, how he throws the ball, and what he uses now, but talk to the pro shop operator.

There are many mid priced ball options that are very good balls. Like thegame said, The monster series is good, so is the groove line. Gift certificates are a sure fire way to make him happy because then he can talk to the pro shop manager himself to find the best ball for him. If nothing else, most pro shops also sell used balls, and he could get a top of the line ball for a mid ball price.
