Title: inferno line

I was wondering if I really wanted to put an inferno line together... would this work? ultimate Inferno, Original inferno, Absolute Inferno, Smokin inferno. Also would the original inferno and absolute overlap each other?

You'd probably be fine with the Ultimate, Absolute, and Smokin' in my opinion.

not at all. Original is skid/flip, Absolute (AKA Anaconda) is control with an attitude.

My druthers would be Strike Zone (if you want solid Activator),  Anaconda (Activator Plus) and Rattler (Activator {sort of}).

Smokin' with polish is a good medium to light conditions piece.
For mediums and up, my favorite would be an OI, preferred to an AI - I found the Activator+ cover on the AI to be very condition-specific, only with a small window for surface changes. A polished Scorchin' Inferno (due to its higher RG core) could also be an option.
For an oiler, OOB UI, a Total Inferno or a Raging Inferno (remember the purple particle pearl piece? Medium load - underrated!) with a light surface are not bad.

I absolutely loved the inferno line, some really great pieces in there
still have 2-3 left, just cant part with them, they are too good

Good points here.

My Smokin' was the skid/flip ball. The Absolute and Anaconda are very good pearls that are more predictable. The Strike Zone was a great solid, as well as the Ultimate Inferno. The Strke Zone has a little more late kick for me.

I personally prefer the ultimate with polish or at higher grits for medium oil.  I just don't feel that the cover quite has the chops to keep driving through the heavy stuff even when its sanded.  Its just my personal opinion, but I found the shape and carry to be superior when taken up in grit.

The Maxxx Zone uses a version of the inferno core and I feel is a better option due to stronger cover texture.  Its pretty smooth, rolls great and seems to enjoy oil a little more than the ultimate.

Yeah, you have to see the whole picture: Coverstock, core and surface. That's why some of the Infernos are special, with a higher RG, and then there's the modified Inferno core from the late Zone balls like the Smash Zone or Maxxx Zone - and some international Zones had the Inferno core inside, too. There has also been the Etoile in Europe: a PK18 pearl ball with the high RG Inferno core!

You just have to look at the whole package, and the total setup (incl. drilling) has to be taken into regard when you consider ball recation and utility. A higher RG and a modified surface can yield a ball that is better suited for personal style than an OOB standard ball.
