Hell Raiser vs. Nexus solid: Anyone compare?
« on: January 24, 2012, 09:43:16 AM »
Just watched a couple of videos. Hell raiser looks to be as strong if not stronger in the back than the nexus solid. Anyone throw these side by side and can comment?

Edited 1/25: I am asking about the original hell raiser. Not the revenge, just to clarify.

For me, the main difference was the shape. The Hell Raiser Revenge was super clean and sharper response down lane. Overall hook was close to the same, but they are drilled slightly different. With the same layout, or even a P2 or P3 xhole in the HRR, it will probably be more overal hook. The Nexus Solid is still an amazing rolling ball with a sharp breakpoint and continuation for days.

Nexus Solid - 60x4.5x30 no hole

Hell Raiser Revenge - 50x5.5x30 no hole

Hope the helps a little.

coasterp,

If you are referring to the original Hell Raiser, I believe the hybrid cover should be slightly cleaner through the front, and pretty angular late.  I have not, however, had the chance to use one.
The Nexus solid has outstanding late movement for a solid and continuation, especially compared to previous Brunswick solids, which tend to read the mid-lane well and be ultra smoooooooth on the back end. It is my opinion that the Nexus solid has the capacity to handle more volume.  Hope this helps.
