I got this because I bowl at a strongly wet dry shot and thought well, slower reading in dry.... Ideal.  Saw the very low rg and thought emmmmmm don't usually work for me.

Anyway it is very very even and very slow reading and pretty early.  Drill 5 1/4 X 5 1/2.  Surface 1500 with polish.

Not feeling it yet.  Believe I need to continue taking off surface.

I'll repost but at this point I'm not feelin the love!

However there is a new Mr. Hyde in my life who is smooth, slow reacting but he delivers a punch when asked for.

It was a little livelier the other day after weakening surface a bit.

I got it used and since cg is nearly on grip center I did not check statics.

I will do that if weekening doesn't work.

Also not quite catching it the way my other stuff is caught.

It can't keep up with my Hyde!

What is meant by "very slow reading" and "pretty early".  I assume the "pretty early" means it is hooking or "reading" the lane early. But then you say "very slow reading", which to me would mean that it's not reacting soon enough.

Am I just to old to understand these new-fangled terms?

It is lazy in a house that demands length and then some smooth pop!

It is not skidding and revving like I'm used to and then it lazily gets to the pocket and applies a little lick to the head pin.  I mean it actually stops and licks it like a wet tongued doggy and hardly knocks anything down.  It is barely stronger than my new urethane.

PS I am not exiting the thumbhole as clean as usual and will revisit that issue before this slow turning boat anchor for now get's a toss!

LL, on medium oil, mine gets good length, hooks pretty hard and has a lot of "pop" on the backend. No arcy to it. My PAP is 4 1/2 over 1/2 up. Ths ball is drilled PIN 4" from PAP under RF and MB approx 70 degrees. (without measuring it, I am guessing the MB at 70 degrees is around 5 1/2" from the PAP)
Ball has a 2 1/4" Pin. Weight hole is on the VAL at the end of a line drawn from Pin thru CG to the VAL. When this ball starts it's move, it moves!

I didn't like the Brunswick High Gloss Polish, so I removed it by using a Green  Scotch Brite Pad. I then gave the ball a light coat of Ultimate 500 Grit Quick Cut polish and then gave it a normal coat of Columbia 2000 Grit Polish. Finished it off by spraying the ball with water and burning the water on ball.

HAHAtome.

I did say I was not throwing quite as good as usual and was going to rectify that before making a final.

Ball is designed to have less pop than reactives(activator is described as reading more in oil and less on dry) and this center likes drive at the backend and particles and urethane have usually not cut the mustard.  Only reactives for most bowlers at this fast reacting midlane center!  Slower reacting backends.

Go figure!

Well, I'm hearing talk I ain't never run into in all my years of being in the bowling business.

Really though, it sounds like this ball could use a different setup. Go ahead, plug it up and give it a stronger layout. Drill it in a way that an extra hole would be needed so you can manipulate the breakpoint shape.

If you want to try a new layout in it, let us know, maybe we can come up with a different layout to try.

Same thing, adjusted thumb hole a little got my revs back and wow!

Surprisingly snappy, (not really what I wanted) and a lot of pop.

Swinging inside in a house I usually can't I started just tossin racks in to the back of the pit.

No more little smooch on the head pin.

To go on a little bit, this house with rock hard synthetics has a low volume of oil on it and very jumpy midlanes.

UNLESS one moves in for the lefty.  A common move I usually do all over the country but at this house most of us lefties cannot carry.  Much smaller handed righties have no problem carrying inside but the lefty is forced to move left and  thus has no hold are and a very jumpy midlane.  Otherwise he can swing 15 to 8 all day and hit the hole but NEVER strike.

Surprisingly(and I go back to the activator coverstock description) I COULD go inside with this ball throwing a very typical 15 to 8 shot for a lefty and amazingly it made the pattern appear shorter and made it's move while playing a nice comfortable swing early enough and in the oil pattern (quench quench quencH) to be able to recover inside with a tremedous crack.

PS because I was deeper in the oil pattern I was able to get thru the midlanes better than I usually had while playing outside, and then the coverstock took over and made the pattern shorter than it had played for a couple of years.
