I've read that a citric based home-cleaning type of thing can work. Anybody else know???

go to the pro shop and have the oil removed with the rejuvenator---then have it resurfaced. your ball will be brand new.

Pro shop dont have a rejouvinator. The Hook Again idk,but he told me i could do it at home it in a bucket of hot water but idk if or how i am soposted to close the finger holes(if you put the thumbhole if first the air should keep it dry but other then that idk).

Very warm water is fine, approx 120*.  15 in, 15 out, repeat about 3 times reheating the water between sessions.

marshmallow fluff is right, it is that simple. Just avoid strong temperature shocks for the ball. Do nothing to the ball you would not do to your bare hands. It will sweat out lots of its oil. If this does not help itself, have the ball polished up or resurfaced to give it some extra punch.

BTW: you do not have to plug the holes, unless you have some water-soaking tape in them.
