Title: Inferno vs Zone
Post by: Storm269 on September 01, 2006, 12:18:33 AM
Would like to start a poll here, do you prefer the Inferno or the Zone series ?
I love the Inferno series as it matches up to my style...the Vapor zone is also a very good ball but don't know much about the other zones....

I prefer the Zone Series.  The Infernos sort of tail off a bit rather than continuing through the pocket.  The Zones seem to have that added continuation which makes for a more solid pocket hit.  This being said I don't usually have a problem carrying with my Scorchin or Radical, and the Scorchin probably sends more pins flying across the deck than anything else that I own.

How can you have any pudding if you've dirtied your feet?

Yes.

Agreed. Wonder if octane will come out on the zone core? some covers don't match up well with certain cores.

Move left, hook it more.....

There's a new Zone core coming out so that answer is no. And like you said.. I'm not sure if it woudl ever match up right.

Either I haven't been reading the Brunswick forum that closely, you have new info, or you're speculating as to the next zone ball.

I prefer the Infernos. I have only really ever had one ball from the Zone series, a classic Zone. It was second hand but in great condition. My pro shop owner told me it was set up really close to how he would have done it for me.
I really never got the feel for the ball and ended up giving it away.
I believe if I ever tried another one I would want to get a new one as I know that assymetrical ball are very sensitive to drilling.
 My 2 cents...

Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't... you're probably right.

Scary and complete total echo of No Open Tenths comment. Love the infernos (OI, AI, UI) had a second hand Classic Zone drilled right where I would put it, simply not much there, gave it away....

Signature? I don't need no stinking signature...

Personally, I think it is what you find that works for you. When I first started to bowl, I used a WHITE DOT and threw it hard. Finally was convinced to buy a new ball from the Bowling Center I went to. Purchased a U2 and it helped, was able to shoot my first 180. (thought I was some PRO bowler after that.) Entered a PRO-AM and received the BLUE SAPPHIRE ZONE from the Petragglia OPEN in New Jersey. After that, my scores went up. Avg was 119 before and went up to 159 the next season. Won the most improved bowler from the league that I was in. Stuck with ZONE until we moved to California. That is when I started to try other balls, STORM was a big one that I went with. Basically the Price was right for my budget. Moved to Maine and went back to BRUNSWICK at least and my average went up to 196. Since have moved to Florida and bought a Strike Zone. Used it in a summer league and averaged 186 on a terrible house shot. But when I bowl in houses outside the base, I average just over 200. Have never thorwn the Inferno line, so I can not comment on that. But I do like the ZONE line and I would vote for ZONE all the way.

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.
