I've heard a lot about the Goliath's coverstock not holding up for many games.  I've heard that it's good for about 50 games and the performance loss from out of the box is big.  There are a lot of UI's and the Activator coverstock holds up very well.  It revs up really hard, and I think the UI is excellent heavy-oil ball.

I would use the Absolute for medium and get a Ultimate Inferno for Heavy oil. I would still use the Groove for light oil.
For drillings
I would drill the Ulimate inferno for leverage

I Would drill the Absolute With the Pin down

I would drill the Groove, with the pin up.

Since the majority of league bowlers never see the extremes of heavy and dry I think most people could get away with:

Aboslute Inferno for your most aggressive ball, if the lanes have too much oil, square up and whack on it....adjustments, my what a concept!

Classic Zone or Polished Nemesis for your control/step down from the Absolute Inferno.  Drilled with a control/weaker type layout, it should help you read most house conditions and be pretty versatile overall

BVP Punisher or Red Pin Classic Zone for your lighter than average house patterns.  The N'Control Powerboost(Punisher) will give you more push from inside to aide in length if you're heavy handed, or give you a strong motion playing up the boards on lighter patterns due to core strength if you're lacking in the revs department.

badee-badee-badee.....t-t-that's all folks!

I couldn't agree more with DP3, the AI is awesome when you can square up with the lane. It is my oil ball and I went with a lenght drill on it. I can't wait for my next one and try out a RICO1 on it.
