Is a Power Grove the answer

Today I bowled in a tournament that had a Dry House pattern with 5 board out of bounce. Game 1 The smokin Inferno was great til the 9th frame. After that had trouble with it holding inside the out bounce boundry. My punisher was getting to the Pocket but not at a optimal angle. Shot 202, 185, and 160. Last two games seen 2 strikes 1 in each. Would a Power Grove fit for this situation???

Unfortently I dont now my PAP but I throw 14-15 mph with med revs. My normal line is 2nd arrow out to 6 board. I really dont want to change the Surface of the Punisher because it works great for 3rd game second shift league. Thats why I figured either a PG or PG Dry/r would work.  The pattern was 38' Dry center with a 5 board out of bounce area

Am I one of the few people that thinks the Power Groove hooks ALOT??? From what I have expereinced, it hooks a whole lot more than the Smoking Inferno on anything except a lane with carrydown or maybe medium Heavy. On medium or light medium, the PG hooks more boards than alot balls I have thrown.

I suggest a Dry R.

Depends on what you need.  Normal PG is a pretty snappy ball for most people.  Twoheadedboy is probably the first person I've seen who says that the PG is very arcy for them, all the ones I've seen (and used) have been skid, skid and BAM backend.  The Dry/R will be tamer on the backend from what I've seen.  So it really depends on what you specifically need.

the power groove and all low end resins have a high RG which will make them snappy by nature. try to drill it with the pin between and above the fingers and the pin under your ring finger, that will get the ball bdown the lane and it has a rather arcy reaction.hope this helps

i have thrown the smokin ,but i own a power groove. imo for the 35 bucks you can get one for off ebay its well worth the money to find out for youtself. this is the best ball for the money. dry to light oil when the backends are moving this ball shines. i can play it up the 5 board or swing it,depending on conditions. mine is polished,but i had one dulled up and it too was a great ball. carry is awesome.generally speaking,the only way i dont do well wth this ball on the right shot is if i am just bowling bad. this is one of those balls you hate not to be able to use.now you have made me want to get another one an dull it up.

I have used both. But I preffered my smokin. I used it on not just dry but really dry. It work much more better than there a few oil left. Other reasons due to Hitting power flying Pins hits other pin still standings. But Still not bad to try a Power Grove. What every helps beside it's affordable.

Just case you didnt realize I do have a Smokin Inferno and would be trying to fit the Power Grove Under it.  The Smokin Core was to aggressive for this condition IMHO.  Thats why I am trying to deciede between Power Grove or Dry/r. Now I heared  a Storm's Tropical Storm may work well on this condition also. Guy throwing it seemed to score well on the lanes yesterday.
