Is it really worth that much for one new in box?

It was a good ball, but to answer your question, to me the answer is .... NO!
To someone else that "just has to have one", then maybe yes, but there a lot of better balls out there better than that one for a lesser price. I would opt for an Absolute Inferno or Vapor Zone before I would pay that much for that ball but that is just me.

I think actually the original skull ball.  Its the most pricey ball i've seen.

There was a NIB Absolute Inferno on ebay recently that the auction started at $99,939.00. Granted it was a typo, but THAT was the most pricey ball I had ever seen.

I am keeping a nib pba red inferno for about another year or so, if they remake the inferno worst case i have a great ball to drill or best case i will get 300 plus by then. Supply and demand is what drives the world whether you like it or not!!! I paid 125 shipped so this is worth the gamble since i live in vegas i am going to let it ride

It is worth more than that to me... I'm keeping my two NIB for years to come, along with a handful of other gems.

as a rule of thumb, i try not to pay over $100 shipped for any bowling ball.

i payed about $150 for mine drilled in early 2005.

so... no, i'd say its not worth it.

it is a sweet ball though

I love my O.I., it's the ball I shot my 800 with, but you guys that are holding on to them aren't doing yourselves any favors.

I did the same thing with some old A.M.F. Cobra's and some columbia U-Dots, Vector Ones, and Vector Twos, Blue Hammers and Black Turbos.

By the time I actually needed them, technology had rendered them almost useless ( except the blue hammers ), merely light oil balls at best.

Technology marches on, whether we like it or not. Better use them in a couple of years or you too might find you have several glorified "spare" balls, like I did.

P.S.  No, I don't have them anymore. I drilled a couple for myself and sold the rest about four years ago.
