is the absolute that good????
« on: February 14, 2005, 02:56:12 AM »
i have to drill an arsenal with 3 balls
one to go long and then snap
one to maximun hook
one to go straight
changing the layout and the surface..would this be possible with 3 absolute or do u have another alternatives???
is the absolute the best bowling ball in the market right now???
i am wondering this because is very strange that all the pros that are free agents that could drill whatever they want they re drilling this ball and with a lot of succes

in my opinion, the ball is good but seeing different prfessional bowlers throw it on TV really doesn't mean anything for league bowlers. I truly believe Norm Duke or Amleto could drill up any ball from any company and with the right lane conditions, bowl very well.. The Absolute just seems to match up very well with alot of different styles..

I do beleive the Absolute will be a ball alot of people buy, but I hope its not because of all of its success on TV.. The ball is not as important as the skills of the person throwing it..

Sadly that is why most ppl will buy it... but in most cases that is what sells balls in centers and local areas.  Word of mouth, so and so is throwing an absolute and his average is up 20 pins. Not taking into account that he may have changed other things in his timing/release, and is using a different layout all together.

But thats how bowling works.

It seems that any ball that Big B comes out with at this point is very competitive.  Even their "mid-priced" line with the Impulse Zone and the Classic Zone have really caught fire.  Activator is the coverstock of the "now".  The Inferno lineup has been wildly successful.  Even the Blazing Inferno, which is probably Big B's least successful Inferno offering, is a very qualified pill.

i dont wanna sound rude...i know i am not amnleto and i am not norm duke but i believe i am a fine international bowling player (225 ave in leagues on miami...just 2 months, but had a lot of records on fiq sport conditions)
i just figure that they (norm, amleto, devaney)didnt reach their talent right now, they had the same talent when they were bowling with amf and track and could not win
thats why i thought this ball could really be an introduction on my arsenal...not that i wanna bowl like amleto because i have the same ball...i just wanna to maximize my game.

If you are referring to the PBA winners and their use of the Absolute recently, please erase any consideration of that from your mind. Take into consideration the quality  of these bowlers: Norm Duke and Amleto Monacelli and realize that with a plastic White Dot they will beat up fiercely any house bowler coming in with a 235-250 league average who has the use of a Track GP2 or a Absolute Inferno, ON ANY OIL PATTERN of the house bowler's choosing.  I'd bet hard earned cash on that.

That said, some balls are very good for certain bowlers on certain oil patterns.

I wonder how much of this current situation has to do with the PBA using Brunswick oils?
(No, I don't know; I really just wonder.)

That is an intresting thing to ponder charlest, i find it that alot of the guys (Higher average bowlers) in the house i bowl at all use Big B equipment, and it happens to be a Brunswick house.

You could say, go figure, or maybe there is something to it. Who knows, food for thought i guess.

There is no Best Ball.
Being brunswick, being on the show 2 weeks in a row, it could be the most sought after ball, the most popular ball.

But what does that have to do with you and your needs? FInd out what type of ball you need (NOT want), then find out which makers produces that type of ball, then seek out reviews, both here and elsewhere, seek out local people usingthat type of ball and see what success they are enjoying. One buys a ball reaction for an oil pattern for your release; one does not buy a ball. YOur three categories are not appropriate: hook, snap and straight. HONESTLY.

what u mean they re not aprropoiate
i could not make it  any simplier
one to play a straight shot
one to play a hook shot on heavy oil
and another one to a conventional house shot...go long and the hook
my questiuon was...is the absolute a versatile ball to make these 3 kind of shots with diferents layouts and surface...yes or no

The Absolute Inferno is definitely the best ball on the market right now - IF all you consider is what you see on tv.

As far as the rest of the reputation of the ball, I've got a wait and see attitude. the people I've seen so far throwing the absolute have games that far surpass mine.

I'm going to wait to see how the people who throw the ball more like us mere mortals like the ball, and what they're able to do with it, before I order one.

I think the ball has shown to be good for a lot of different styles of bowling as well as a lot of different conditions.  It will have to have a few months before you can start comparing it to the Original Inferno as far as "Best" ball or "Ball of the Year."

The absolute is very versatile that i think youll be able to cover just about any type of house shot put out. the only exception depending on bowling styles is how close you can go towards the extreme of dry and floods. but i think that is it the most versatile thing out. and maybe for the year eventhough its only the beginning.
